NEW SAILING OPPORTUNITIES ON USL THIS SUMMER
There is a new sailing opportunity on Upper Saranac Lake this summer. Barry Brogan a Saranac Lake resident and long-time sailor on Upper Saranac has turned his love for sailing into an opportunity to share his passion with others. SAIL Adirondacks is available for crewed charters this summer on the classic and very comfortable O’Day 23 sailboat. Along with crewed charters we will be offering sailing lessons on the O’Day for youth up through age 15. We are available throughout July and August to bring the boat to folk’s camp to start a learn-to-sail lesson or family cruise right from the dock.
In recognition of our attempts to reduce the spread of COVID-19, all charters will be limited to family units and we can take up to three adults or 4 children 15 and under. Barry will be wearing a mask and hand sanitizer and masks will be available for passengers. We are also making the O’Day 23, a Sunfish, and a 16-foot Old Town camping canoe available for weekly rentals (at least 5 days). The sunfish or canoe can be delivered by land and the O’Day brought to a renter’s camp.
Sailing experience and appropriate docking or mooring facilities will be required for rentals. The O’Day is a NYS inspected public vessel and Barry is a licensed charter captain. For more details about charters please see the SAIL Adirondack web site at SAILADKS.com. For information on rentals please call Barry Brogan at 518 524 0073.
Upper Saranac Lake Association Members will enjoy a 10% discount on all sailing charters and learn-to-sail experiences. See you on the Lake!
