It was announced this week that the Village Mercantile will be closing its doors at the end of September 2026. The USLA Store has enjoyed a consignment relationship with The Village Mercantile since 2001. They provided both an in-store and e-commerce outlet for our Upper Saranac Lake branded merchandise. We are very grateful for our partnership.
Here’s what their closure means for the USLA Store:
- The Village Mercantile has a very limited amount of USLA Store merchandise available for sale through September. We will not be restocking. The merchandise will not be included in the store closing sales (i.e., no discounts).
- We do not have an immediate e-commerce replacement. We are exploring options and will provide an update as something becomes available. For the time being, the USLA Store links on the USLA website will be deactivated, as we have not replenished our merchandise at the Village Mercantile.
Options available for purchasing USLA Store merchandise:
- The Trading Post at Fish Creek Ponds: A selection of our merchandise is available for sale at the Trading Post at Fish Creek Ponds (Knapp’s). Our sweatshirts and loon T-shirts (except for youth and women’s sizes) are there. The Trading Post is open until Columbus Day. Check their Facebook page for hours.
- Direct Sale out of my camp: People who want to purchase USL branded merchandise that is not at the Trading Post are welcome to reach out to Susan Hearn directly. I am willing to sell out of my camp through most of September, by appointment only. My e-mail address is susanhearndrph@gmail.com. Contact me to set up an appointment.
Payment for purchases made at my camp must be made by cash or check payable to USLA Scholarship.
