What We Do
The Cultural Affairs Committee adds value to the experience of USLA membership by providing a variety of events that enrich and add enjoyment to time at the lake during the summer. While our focus is on cultural events, we include additional opportunities to appeal to diverse interests.
Our Work
Past events have included a jazz concert and talks by authors and historians, each followed by a reception; photography contests; fishing derbies; a Victorian croquet tournament; poetry readings; and tours of architecturally and historically significant camps. In 2025, we organized a photographic history tour of Upper Saranac Lake followed by a reception and book signing with author, Sally Svenson. Additional events included a hands-on cell phone photography workshop and two open levels yoga classes.
