Claudia Braymer, the Deputy Director of Protect the Adirondacks, received this document as the result of their FOIL (Freedom of Information Law) request to the NYSDEC for any communication relating to the expansion of the Upper Saranac Marina (USM).

In response to USM’s application request, the DEC has requested answers to the same concerns previously raised by a number of the groups following this project, including USLA. These questions relate to: the marina’s calculation of their proposed increase in the waterfront footprint; and, the expected increase in the boat traffic from Fish Creek pond to Upper Saranac Lake. The latter directly relates to the carrying capacity on Fish Creek Pond and safety concerns.
USLA continues to monitor all communications regarding this project.
